Using the Latest Technology
Points of Wellness uses the Acugraph Digitial Meridian Imaging (DMI) system as part of an integrated approach to your healthcare.
What is Acugraph?
The Acugraph Digital Meridian Imaging (DMI) system is a computerized tool used to analyze and document the energetic status of the acupuncture meridians. Our acupuncturist uses this system by performing a short examinationdone by applying a moistened probe to acupuncture points on the hands and feet.
What are Acupuncture Meridians?
Acupuncture meridians are energy pathways in the body that have been used therapeutically for thousands of years. These meridians conduct Qi (life force energy) thoughout the entire body. Blockages in these pathways can result in energetic imbalances that can contribute to negative health conditions. The primary goal of acupuncture is to restore energetic balance and proper energy flow to these meridian pathways, thus allowing your body to function normally and return to health naturally.
How Can the Acugraph Help Me?
The Acugraph system allows our acupuncture physician to measure and analyze the energy level of each acupuncture meridian. With this information, our acupuncturist can make better informed decisions about your condition and provide the best treatment possible.
This bottom graph is a baseline exam before receiving a treatment. The top graph is after a relatively quick treatment. After only 20 minutes, just one meridian remains imbalanced.
What Does My P.I.E. Score Mean?
Each wedge of the circle in the P.I.E. chart represents one meridian pathway. Those shown in green are balanced and functioning properly. Colors that do not extend to the edge of the circle identify and classify your meridian imbalances.
Your P.I.E. (Personal Integrated Energetics) score includes a complete analysis of all your meridian pathways and reflects the overall health of your meridian energetic system. A perfect score of 100 reflects complete balance and unimpeded flow of your Qi. A lower score means there are various imbalances that you and your acupuncturist will address together.
